Ordinance Establishing Parking Regulations
The President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Winslow do ordain as follows:
Section 1: Parking Regulations
1. Twenty Four Hour Parking: The operator of a vehicle shall not park such vehicle
on any street, avenue, alley or public parking lot in the Village of Winslow for more than
twenty-four (24) consecutive hours at any one time provided approved signs are placed
in accordance with law.
Section 2: Winter Parking Regulations
a. It shall be unlawful to park any motor vehicle on any avenue or street in the
Village of Winslow between November 15 of any year and March 31 of the succeeding
year between the hours of twelve o'clock (12:00) midnight and seven o'clock (7:00) AM.
b. Between the dates and during the times specified in paragraph a. hereof
parking on Village streets and avenues shall be allowed on the even numbered side of
the street and avenue on the even numbered days of the month and on the odd
numbered side of the street and avenue on the odd numbered days of the month.
c. Sides of streets and avenues are hereby defined as odd or even in accordance
with the last digit of the house or building number of the buildings on that particular side
of the street.
d. Parking shall not be allowed at any time at locations designated by the
following signs:
(1) No parking, school days,
(2) No parking between signs
(3) Where no parking is designated on both sides of the street or on one side
of street or avenue.
e. Any vehicle illegally parked may be towed away by the Village at the owner's
risk and the cost of towing and storage charged to the registered owner of the vehicle.
f. Any person, violating the provision of this Chapter shall, upon conviction thereof,
pay a forfeiture of no less than ten dollars ($10.00) *, nor more than one hundred dollars
($100.00), plus the costs of prosecution, and plus all towing and storage charges, and
in default of payment thereof shall be imprisoned in the Stephenson County Jail for a
period not to exceed thirty (30) days. Each day on which said violation exists or
continues shall constitute a separate and distinct offense.
Section 3
This ordinance shall be numbered Section ________of the Winslow Village Code
and be in full force and effect upon passage and publication as provided by law.
