Village of Winslow
Village Board Meeting
The Winslow Village Board met in regular session on Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at 7:00 PM. at the Village Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mr.Croup. The roll call went as follows:
Members Present: Mrs.
Graham, Mr. Hastings, Ms. Hook, Mrs. Stark, Mrs. Wire, Mr. Diffenderfer
Members Absent: Mrs. Mc Phhillips
Present: Dawn Sweeney,
Denny Bunker, Kathy Confer, Andy Youtzy
A motion was made by Mr.
Diffenderfer and seconded by Mr. Hastings to approve the minutes of the last
meeting. All were in favor. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Mr. Diffenderfer and seconded by Mr. Hastings to approve the financial report. All were in favor. Motion carried.
Per Denny Bunker there is another test we must do, Barium
test. Cost is $237.60 per test. This is a new requirement that has to be
done by January 10, 2005. Mr. Hastings
made a motion and Mrs. Graham seconded to approve spending the money on the new
water testing. Roll call was made. All were in favor. Motion carried.
STREETS, ALLEYS, BRIDGES AND
SIDEWALKS:
Mrs. Stark had a sidewalk bill to be
paid.
PUBLIC PROPERTY, WATER AND SEWER:
Garbage truck issue – Gill’s is
willing to work with us to get the garbage truck to not come into town until at
least 5:00 in the morning.
Taylor Street House – Fire
department needs an asbestos check first.
If there is asbestos, it has to be removed first. The owner is working on this issue.
Mr. Hastings has gotten another
estimate from Mississippi Valley for the replacement of the pump. Mr. Mason has been notified to order the
parts.
Delinquent Water Bills – Mr.
Hastings has been collecting on delinquent water bills. There are a few problems but they will be handled
shortly.
HEALTH, WELFARE AND POLICE:
Mr. Diffenderfer will start working
on ordinance book. Also, if we get the
Canine dog, there is no raise in our insurance. More discussion will be done in next month’s meeting when more
information is obtained.
FINANCE AND APPROPRIATIONS:
PERMITS AND LICENSE:
Nothing
OTHER BUSINESS:
Retaining wall at Grace Bible Church
has called and said that the bill for the retaining wall was going to cost a
bit more. Mr. Croup explained that we
agreed to the $1500 which was half the cost we were told.
Taylor Street is a go for
renovation. Mrs. Stark motioned and Mr.
Hastings seconded that we contact Cox to go ahead and proceed with Taylor
Street at the earliest possible time available and at the quoted price.
Village truck has been out for
repairs. It should be picked up
tomorrow.
Village Hall furnace is not working
properly. Mr. Diffenderfer made a
motion and it was seconded by Mrs. Graham to have Mrs. Wire talk to her husband
about the repairs. If he does not want
to, then we contact Mrs. Block. All
were in favor. Motion carried.
Subdivision - A copy of the subdivision regulations was
sent to the developer. No reply has
been seen at this time.
Mr. Croup talked to the lawyer
regarding appointing a new Treasurer as Mrs. Sweeney is departing. Mr. Croup has appointed Kathy Confer to the
position of Treasurer. Mrs. Sweeney
will be training Mrs. Confer for at least another month.
A bill for Spahn & Rose was paid
inadvertently. Mr. Croup will be
checking with them to see if maybe it was for the Park District.
A motion was made by Mrs. Wire and
seconded by Mrs. Stark to approve the bills with revisions. Roll call was made. All were in favor. Motion carried.
Mrs. Graham asked about the
Christmas Lights for the Village. Mrs.
Wire and Mrs. Graham will check into getting estimate on purchase of new
lights.
Mr. Croup adjourned the meeting at 9:00 PM.
